leprosy

today we look at Matthew 8:1-4
1 When he came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. 2 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." 3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy. 4 Then Jesus said to him, "See that you don't tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."

first we have to define leprosy which is known as Hansen's disease which numbs the skin so you don't feel anything even things chewing on you while you sleep and in Jesus time it had no cure. So a leper was not dying, they were dead so like he had to be brought back to life.

Also lepers had to remain away from the camp or city according to Leviticus which I'm sure you all read in your spare time, because leprosy was contagious just like sin.

and that is our experience because we are dead and numb to sin and we are cleansed by Jesus. Then we can enter the camp and city of God.
